Literary Director

Sam Keeney is a writer/director currently living in Los Angeles. From a young age, Sam has always been passionate about storytelling. While he would frequently plot short stories in his mind or work with his siblings to draw out fictional universities, he first truly discovered his love for writing by participating in the Coterie’s young playwright roundtable. Based out of his hometown of Kansas City, MO, this highly selective organization recruits teenagers to help them create and develop theater scripts. Sam’s passion for storytelling would lead him to move to LA in 2019 to pursue a degree in Narrative Studies at the University of Southern California. There, he met future collaborator Brandon Whipple and officially joined Some Dude Productions.

Working with SDP in every role from writer to director to actor, Sam would eventually become Literary Director in 2022. Since then, he’s only been fired like once and has worked to edit and review scripts before they enter into production. Sam has also written several projects for SDP, including the horror short “From Within” and the “Raven” movies. While he currently works as an assistant at a non-profit, he is always looking for new opportunities in the entertainment industry.
